Grants for Students in Further Education and Training
Grants are available for all young people residing within our registered geographic boundary who are in full time education, either at sixth form or higher education college, regardless of the school or college location. The current award is £120 per student per academic year.
Full details on how to make an application for an award can be found on the Further Education Applications page.
Grants for Students in Higher Education
Additional grants are available to support students following full time courses in higher education, such as universities and higher education colleges. Students must ordinarily reside with our registered geographic boundary and must make a separate application for each year of their course. Those who are eligible are currently awarded £550 per academic year.
Full details on how to make an application for an award can be found on the Higher Education Applications page.
Grants for Voluntary Organisations
Every year, we consider applications for awards from local voluntary organisations who are involved in providing facilities or activities for young people either directly or indirectly. These awards may be used to support purchasing materials or equipment or to partially fund a project, activity or trip that will benefit their young members.
In the past, we are proud to have supported organisations such as Pirton Colts Cricket Club, Ickleford Cricket Club, Pirton and Holwell Beavers, Pirton Youth club, St. Katharines Church Choir, Stondon Scout Group amongst many others.
We have contributed towards projects such as the purchase of play equipment, sports equipment, sheet music, arts and crafts supplies, maintenance to sports facilities, youth club equipment and camping equipment to name but a few. Please view our Testimonials page for more information.
The value of these grants vary enormously by project, from hundreds to thousands of pounds but we normally expect some element of matched funding from the organisation and a demonstrable and robust link to the development of young people.
